KEEMSTAR (formerly DJ Keemstar) aka Daniel Michael Keem (born March 8, 1982), is an American YouTuber and online news reporter best known for his DramaAlert channel. He would go onto create The Baited! Podcast with Colossal is Crazy and Tommy C, then in late 2023 would create LolCow Live with Boogie2988, Wings of Redemption and Tommy C. The creator of the Tea Party group chat.
Early YouTube Career
[edit]He originally started out his youtube career when DERANKER recorded him shit talking in the game Halo 3 for the Xbox 360. He then promptly joined the Xbox 360 trolling and shittalking clan called the F@G. He was banned from youtube for telling people to click on the ads for money and came back with a loophole by being a guest on the channel which belonged to someone else. While attempting to make money streaming, he signed up to Alki David’s streaming platform Battlecams / BlogTV where he would heavily promote FortressCraft which was a clone of Minecraft that came out for Consoles before Minecraft console edition. While on Blog TV he was constantly being threatened by one of the mods, being called racial slurs against his Italian heritage such as “dago” and “wop” by a mod named Alex. Additionally the way Blogtv functioned was that any moderator could put someone on the front page by starting them. Keemstar was a mod and was claiming that he wasn’t starting himself and proceeded to have a legendary rant where he ended up saying: “THIS NI**ER ALEX IS DOING THIS SHIT! EVERYBODY TYPE IN THE CHAT THAT ALEX IS A STUPID NI**ER!”
DramaAlert Creation
[edit]While making DramaAlert he exposed many predators within the minecraft community, including L for Leeeee, Jinbop Gaming, Lionmaker Studios and many more. He is also known as one of the founding members and hosts of The Baited Podcast which occurred in 2016 after his two closest online friends GradeaunderA and Leafyishere made simultaneous expose videos on him.
Minecraft Monday and Friday Fortnite
[edit]He is the founder of Minecraft Monday, a popular Minecraft competition consisting of many large creators, and Friday Fortnite, which is a popular Fortnite competition consisting of large Fortnite content creators. Friday Fortnite was introduced in May 2018, but was shut down quickly. The tournament did come back in 2019, but for only a brief period.
Podcasts
[edit]Since then he has been a part of many podcasts that have broken up, including Mom's Basement, Packgod and KEEM and the Keemstar Show that was co-hosted with SalvoPancakes. Now owns Happy Punch and holds influence in the misfits boxing promotional youtube fighting organization with the most notable matching being Boogie2988 vs WingsofRedemption that was followed up with a podcast with the two of them with Tommy C’s SFTP called “Lolcow Live”.
